The 102nd Silver Award Presentation was successfully held on 29 April. We were honoured to have the Guest of Honour, The Hon. Mr. Chan Kwok Ki, GBS, IDSM, JP, Chief Secretary for Administration, to officiate our presentation. Mr. Andy Kwok Wing Leung, JP, Chairman of Award Council, Mr. Victor Pang Wing Seng, MH, Vice-Chairman of Award Council, Award Council Members and guests also came to witness the meaningful moments of our awardees. Ms. Aimee Chan Sze Long, our new Award Council member and past Silver Award Recipient, led 3 of our Silver Award Recipients to share their experience from Silver Award Journey. Dr. Irene Tang Gold Level Croatia Adventurous Journey (25/3-4/4/2024)

AYP successfully organised overseas Adventurous Journey again after five years. Under the support of Dr. Irene Tang AYP International Exchange Programme Fund, Kwok Hing Kwan Chan Lai Wah Charitable Foundation Limited, Eikowada, Tunbow Charity Foundation Limited and INNOTIER, 22 participants got the chance to have their assessment journey in Croatia after completing Hong Kong’s training. Besides of appreciating the natural beauties in Croatia, our participants can understand more about the Belt and Road Initiative between Croatia and China.

CLP E-Playground and Power Journey (31/3/2024)

CLP E-Playground, co-organised by AYP and CLP Power Hong Kong Limited, hold “CLP Power Ambassador Programme”, “CLP Smart Evening Camp”, and “Power Journey” for the fifth consecutive year. In total, over 3,255 and 1,979 participants joined the evening camp and Power Journey respectively. 246 young people had become CLP Power Ambassador, promoting environmental awareness through volunteering and STEM education.

Jockey Club Diversity Mentoring Youth Project (31/3/2024)

In the third year of “Jockey Club Diversity Mentoring Youth Project”, AYP aims to enhance participants’ life skills and self-confidence through diverse talents sharing positive values and life attitudes. As this three-year programme is coming to an end, we are busy preparing for the closing ceremony. We hope to gather mentors and youth together one last time at the ceremony to reflect on the time spent together and share their experiences and gains.

Sports ZERO(31/3/2024)

Events Report, Past Events

Funded by HKEX Foundation, and allocated and monitored by the Community Chest, AYP organised the “Sports ZERO” project aiming to promote environmental sustainability. The project approached more than 2,500 individuals in the past three years. AYP held “ZERO Hero” Journey, Creation ZERO Workshop, and ZERO Games to collect disposable plastic bottles, then used them to create equipment for newly emerged sports, or donate to the community. We aim to promote waste-to-energy, and let young people and the public to learn more about green lifestyle by integrating sustainability concepts into sports activities.

Jockey Club “Camily” Project (31/3/2024)

Funded by the Jockey Club Charities Trust, we stepped into the third year of the Jockey Club “Camily” Project. Through participating in “Skills”, “Physical Recreation” and “Adventurous Journey” related activities, parents and children can develop a close rapport, and parents are able to understand the capability of their children. Besides of the newly emerged sports and rope climbing events, we also have various types of handicraft activities, such as making keychains and scented soap balls.

“More Than Adventure” Programme (31/3/2024)

Funded by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Youth Development Commission, AYP has launched the “More Than Adventure” programme since July 2023. As of 31 March 2024, we have successfully conducted a total of 42 training groups, providing valuable learning opportunities for 1,641 youths. The programme aims to align with the “Youth Development Blueprint” by offering training programmes ranging from day camp to 4-day-3-night camps. Through a series of experiential adventure training activities, progressive guidance, and intervention from coaches, we helped young people to build up positive self-development, enhance resilience, foster group consciousness and discipline, broaden their horizons, and boost creativity. In the coming year, we will continue our efforts to provide systematic, high-quality, and large-scale adventure training activities for youth.

Uniformed Groups Chill Fun Day (24/3/2024)

The Uniformed Groups Chill Fun Day was successfully held on 24 March 2024. We were honoured to have Mr. Eric Chan Sui Wai, JP, Commissioner for Youth, Award Council Members and guests to attend the closing ceremony and spend a relaxing afternoon with our young people. Students’ mental health issues have been conspicuous in recent years. To share a good work vision with our partners, we organised this event for young people from 13 uniformed groups. With a series of adventure challenges and STEAM activities, young people are able to build a strong relationship with new friends and relax beneath the natural surroundings.

AYP Spring Reception 2024 was held at The Cityview on 22 February 2024. Mr. Eric Chan Siu Wai, JP, Commissioner for Youth, Home and Youth Affairs Bureau, Mr. Siu Chak Yee, PDSM, PMSM, Commissioner of Police, and The Hon. Kenneth Leung Yuk Wai, JP, Legislative Council Member and Vice-Chairman of Youth Development Commission, attended our Spring Reception, shared the joy of Chinese New Year with the Award Council, and over 160 guests and AYP supporters.

BronzeGain (15/7/2023-28/1/2024)

AYP held Bronze Level Programme – BronzeGain from July 2023 to January 2024. This programme included the four section activities of Bronze Award Level, allowing participants to complete the Bronze Award at once. For Service Section, participants participated in volunteer activities such as second-hand recycling, beach cleaning, and teaching children to make craft; for Skills Section, there were two activities: bakery and ceramic-making provided to participants to choose the one that they were more interested in; for Adventurous Journey Section, most of them had their first taste of hiking and overnight camping, which allowed them to challenge themselves; last but not least, for the Physical Recreation Section, they participated in the orientation activities, so that they were qualified to participate in the “BOC Life Rogaine Charity Race 2024” after completion of the orientation training. Concurrently, the Bronze Award Presentation was held for the first time after the end of Rogaine Charity Race. They could celebrate the joyfulness of completing the Bronze Award with other participants, and continue to work hard towards the Silver Award!
