AOA Skills Section Course – “Intangible Cultural Heritage Handcraft Course 2026/27”

The Award Operating Authority (AOA) will organize an Intangible Cultural Heritage Handcraft Course from November 2026 to March 2027. AYP Participants at any level can start their Skills Section by joining this course. Successful completion can fulfill the Bronze Award Skills Section (Minor) requirement, while Silver and Gold Award participants may arrange follow-up activities after the end of the course to fulfill specific requirements if necessary.

This course teaches how to make four types of handcrafts, including the “Seal Carving”, “Mini Flower Board”, “Bamboo Weaving Coaster”, and “Neon Tube”. Participants will experience firsthand four Intangible Cultural Heritage crafts of Hong Kong, acquire the crafting skills and hence discover their personal potential. Through professional guidance and hands-on creation, participants will deepen their understanding of local culture, fostering an appreciation for preserving precious cultural heritage. In addition, an orientation day will be arranged for participants to get to know each other by experiencing various team activities at the beginning of the course.
