The Hong Kong Award for Young People (AYP) is committed to providing young people with diverse learning opportunities and activity experiences, encouraging them to try new things and challenge themselves. Therefore, AYP is going to organize AYP Gold Level Hainan Cycling Adventurous Journey Training Course – “Hainan Road to Gold” this October. After completing the cycling training in Hong Kong, participants will put their skills into practice on a cycling assessment journey to Hainan Island, combining physical challenges with self-exploration. The entire journey will not only test physical fitness and willpower but also encourage participants to reflect on the relationship between humanity and nature, cultivating respect for the environment and an attitude of sustainable living. AOA will organize the Adventurous Journey Training Courses (Hiking) from October 2026 to April 2027. The Hong Kong Award for Young People (AYP) will organize Silver Level Adventurous Journey Instructor Training Course (English-Speaking) 2026-2027 in September 2026. The purpose is to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to attain the qualification of Silver Level Adventurous Journey Instructors so that they can assist in organizing Adventurous Journey training courses for respective Operating Authority (OA) and promoting AYP. “Fly High 2026 – City Fitness Challenge+” The Fly High Charity Sports Programme 2026 is fully sponsored and supported by Tencent Charity Foundation and Gaw Capital’s People’s Place. It aims to encourage grassroots youth and the public to engage in sports, fostering a healthy and positive lifestyle. Through sports, we strive to support youth development, strengthen community ties, and inject positive energy into the community. AYP is honoured to be a beneficiary organisation, launching the “Fly High 2026 — City Fitness Challenge+” Hybrid Fitness Youth Promotion Programme. This programme uses hybrid fitness as a medium, rooted in schools before expanding into the community, and includes cooperative hybrid fitness competitions for teams of four, encouraging young people to push their limits. As the first phase of this initiative, we are adopting a school-based approach. Participating schools can not only book the HYROX365 On-Campus Experience Day but also recommend students to attend regular training sessions at the 24-hour gyms under EFX24 Group, the consultant for this project. Award Operating Authority (AOA) and School Operating Authorities (SOA) will host the Silver Level Adventurous Journey Instructor Training Course from June to September this year. The course aims to teach instructional skills for the Adventurous Journey Section and cultivate more hiking instructors. This will support hiking training for Bronze and Silver Adventurous Journey Sections and assist the Award Scheme in developing young people. “Full-Fun National Education Pioneer Programme (2026-27)” Organized by The Hong Kong Award for Young People (HKAYP) The AYP is proud to launch the brand-new “Full-Fun National Education Pioneer Programme”, designed to extend values education beyond the classroom and into the great outdoors. Hosted at the AYP Jockey Club Duke of Edinburgh Training Camp in Tai Po, this program utilizes experiential learning to help youths build positive values and a solid foundation of identity. Program Themes Schools can choose from two core thematic camps: * Positive Values & National Education Camp: Focusing on core national education pillars and character building. * Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Experience Camp: Exploring Chinese culture through the lens of intangible heritage. HYAB Funding Scheme for Youth Adventure Training Activities (2025-27) Adventure Discovery Under the “HYAB Funding Scheme for Youth Adventure Training Activities (2025-27)” funded by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Youth Development Commission, the Hong Kong Award for Young People is launching the “Adventure Discovery” programme and it is now open for application. The programme includes diverse elements such as adventure training, emerging sports, environmental protection, innovative technology, volunteer service and etc. Programme objectives: In line with the “Youth Development Blueprint,” the programme targets to provide adventure training activities of quality and scale for young people in a structured manner. Through taking part in adventure training and a series of experiential activities under the progressive guidance and involvement of instructors, the programme aims to improve young people’s physical and mental well-being, and foster their positive thinking, resilience, sense of discipline and team spirit. Supported by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau, the Youth Development Commission, and The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, The Hong Kong Award for Young People will organise the three-year HYAB JC Scheme for Youth Life Planning (2025–28) – Career Tailor from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2028. Background: At the end of 2022, the Government launched the Youth Development Blueprint, which outlined the overall vision and guiding principles for its long-term youth development efforts. The Blueprint emphasises the importance of encouraging young people to explore their potential and develop their talents to prepare for future pursuits in society. To strengthen support for youth in unlocking their potential, the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Youth Development Commission have jointly launched the enhanced HYAB JC Scheme for Youth Life Planning. This initiative aims to assist secondary school students in realising their life planning goals and seizing opportunities presented by national development. AYP in ACTION’ was successfully held on 10 March 2019 in Mui Woo. Despite the undesirable weather conditions, participants and volunteers made it through with strong team spirit! There are 20 teams with about 100 participants taking part in the competition. Special thanks must be given to our Organizing Group from Award Network who supported the event.
Three sessions of FUNday were done smoothly! Although the participating Members were all first timers to try out hammock workout and carry out inversions, they could complete all sets of poses with ease.
‘AYP in ACTION’ was successfully held on 12 November 2017 in Sai Kung. Despite the undesirable weather conditions, participants and volunteers made it through with strong team spirit! There are 25 teams with 125 participants taking part in the competition. Special thanks must be given to our Organizing Group from Award Network who supported the event.

16-20 August 2012 Represented by Jeanne Cheng, Convenor of the Core Group, and Elkin Lee, Member of the Core Group, the Award Network on behalf of The Hong Kong Award for Young People participated in the Global Award Holders Network (GAHN) Leadership Capacity Building Workshop in Singapore on 16-20 August 2012 which was co-organised by the International Award Association and National Youth Achievement Award Council of Singapore. The occasion was attended by 25 young Award Leaders representing the four regions – Africa, Americas, Asia Pacific and EMAS Europe, Mediterranean & Arab States) Regions – with an aim to provide a platform for interaction and exchange of ideas by young people to lay down the foundation for the establishment of GAHN. At the Workshop, Jeanne and Elkin gave a presentation on the Award Network in Hong Kong andsh ared our experience in founding a local network for the Award Holders as well as promoting and facilitating continued involvement in the Award.
