AYP held the Spring Reception 2026 today at The Cityview. We were very honoured to invite Miss MAK Mei Kuen, Alice, SBS, JP, Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, to be our Guest of Honour once again. Mr. Andy KWOK Wing Leung, BBS, JP, Chairman of Award Council, Mr. Victor PANG Wing Seng, MH, JP, Vice-Chairman of Award Council and Dr. Philip MA Ching Yeung, BBS, Honorary Treasurer of Award Council also shared the joy of Chinese New Year with around 200 guests and AYP supporters. This year also marks the AYP 65th Anniversary. To celebrate this double happiness, the venue was specially decorated with a peach theme, symbolising joy and fulfilment. We also invited students from Ying Wa College to perform a Chinese drum show. Their powerful beats brought vibrant energy to AYP 65th Anniversary! Thank you everyone for your continued support. AYP Huizhou Innovation, Technology and Industry Exploration Tour 2026 (30/1–31/1/2026)

Supported by the HYAB Funding Scheme for Youth Exchange in the Mainland, the AYP Huizhou Innovation, Technology and Industry Exploration Tour was successfully concluded. During this 2-Day-1-Night programme, 50 participants visited several leading enterprises, government agencies, and local cultural sites. Participants gained valuable insights into the strengths, key success factors, and latest trends of Huizhou’s industrial sector. This experience also broadened their perspectives and further strengthened interregional exchanges.

“BOC Life Wild in the City Orienteering Challenge 2026 | AYP 65th Anniversary Proudly Presents” (25/1/2026)

Organised by The Hong Kong Award for Young People (AYP) and title sponsored by the BOC Group Life Assurance Company Limited, the “BOC Life Wild in the City Orienteering Challenge 2026 | AYP 65th Anniversary Proudly Presents,” together with the “Nostalgic Kowloon” Carnival, concluded successfully on 25 January 2026. As a highlight event of the 2025 youthfest@HK and the inaugural event celebrating AYP’s 65th anniversary, the Challenge attracted over 1,500 participants, including challengers, volunteers, family members and friends across the age from 6 to 75, all joining hands for a meaningful cause. We were honoured to have Ms. Alice Mak, SBS, JP, Secretary for Home Affairs and Youth Affairs; Mr. Kwok Wing Leung, BBS, JP, Chairman of the Award Council; Mr. Wilson Tang, Chief Executive of BOC Life; and Ms. Grace Yu, MH, Chairman of 65th Anniversary Celebration Organising Committee of AYP, to officiate at the lighting and starting gun ceremony, marking the exciting commencement of the AYP 65th anniversary celebrations. The Gold Award Presentation 2025 was successfully held at the Hong Kong Palace Museum on 22 January. We were honoured to have The Honourable John Lee Ka Chiu, GBM, SBS, PDSM, PMSM, Chief Executive of the HKSAR, to be our Guest of Honour and recognise the diligence of Gold Awardees and 10 years‘ Long Service Volunteers! We appreciated Mr. Joe CHOW Yat Ming, PMSM, Commissioner of Police and Honorary Adviser, Mr. Clarence Leung Wang Ching, BBS, JP, Under Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, Mr. Andy Kwok Wing Leung, BBS, JP, Chairman of Award Council, Mr. Victor Pang Wing Seng, MH, JP, Vice-Chairman of Award Council, and Award Council Members for witnessing the wonderful moments of our awardees! International Gold Event & Forum 2025 (16-23/1/2025)

The International Gold Event (IGE) is held by the International Award Association once every three years, and this is the first time combining IGE and the Forum together. It was held in Nigeria from 16th to 23rd November 2025. Our Gold Award Holder Ms. Shao Che Kee Koko and Ms. Yim Ka Wai Kary represented The Hong Kong Award for Young People to participate in this event, meeting other Gold Award holders from over 50 countries and regions. In the IGE, Gold Award holders were empowered and nurtured to become future leaders of the Award through different workshops and activities. While in the Forum, then Award Council member and Operations Committee Chairman Mr. Fergus Kwok, and staff from the Award Office had joined in too. Through various discussion sessions and seminars, different operators understand more about how other global partners promote the Award and learnt from each other’s experience, setting up targets for the future development of the Award Scheme. It was a valuable experience for all delegates, and AYP will keep on accompanying young people in their growth and development.

【Gold Level Hiking x Canoeing Adventurous Journey Training Course 2025-26】(11/10-14/10/2025)

To celebrate AYP’s 65th Anniversary next year, the Award Office organised the “Gold Level Hiking and Canoeing Adventurous Journey Training Course” in June 2025. After months of hiking and canoe training, the participants successfully completed the four-day, three-night assessment journey from 11 to 14 October. The first two days involved a hiking expedition in Hong Kong, followed by two days of canoeing in Shenzhen’s Daya Bay. On the first morning, a set-off ceremony was held at HKAYP Jockey Club Duke of Edinburgh Training Camp. We were honoured to have Mr. Victor Pang Wing Seng, MH, JP, Vice-Chairman of the Award Council as the Guest of Honour, together with other Award Council members, representatives from the Mainland guiding unit and representatives from various Operating Authorities and User Units attended to cheer on the participants. As the starting horn sounded, the participants set off on their journey. They began with initial nerves, but finished by completing the assessment with confidence and enjoyment.

  CRS Hiking Instructor Recruitment Scheme The Hong Kong Award for Young People(AYP) is committed to providing diverse activities to encourage young people to challenge themselves through different opportunities. As one of the Sections of the Award Scheme, Adventurous Journey Section aims to encourage young people a spirit of adventure and discovery. Within the training, Central Registration Scheme (CRS) Instructors play an important role in it, they not only possess extensive experience, but also have the passion for nurturing young people. They are crucial to facilitate our activities to be successfully and safely conducted. With the increasing number of AYP participants, we hope to recruit more individuals with professional wilderness knowledge and the passion for youth work. With the support of China Hong Kong Mountaineering and Climbing Union, we are now sincerely recruiting individuals with Level 3 Mountain Craft Training (Leader) Certificate or above to become our CRS hiking Instructors. They will be able to share their professional knowledge and skills with young people while gaining more practical teaching experiences. “Soar Beyond Boundaries” Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Civil Remote Pilot License Course (20/6/2025)

Organised by AYP and funded by the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation, the “Soar Beyond Limits” CAAC Civil Remote Pilot License Course has been successfully held from 17 to 20 June. Over four days and three nights, 40 youths from Hong Kong explored the development potential of the low-altitude economy through a comprehensive programme combining theory and hands-on practice. The participants visited two industry-leading companies in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and also assembled medium-sized drones which gained insights into cutting-edge industrial applications. Under the guidance of the Civil Aviation Administration of China’s (CAAC) certified instructors, they systematically learned drone operation techniques and completed practical missions such as route planning, reconnaissance and delivery. The course also fostered collaboration between participants from Guangdong and Hong Kong, challenging them with the figure-8 flight operations as required by the CAAC drone exam. Through simulated rescue exercises, they practised drone applications in fire detection, firefighting, and emergency response. We look forward to seeing these young talents apply their newfound skills in Hong Kong, soaring to new heights in the low-altitude economy.

The Hong Kong Award for Young People’s Kowloon District Flag Day, held on 7 June, concluded successfully! Mr. Victor PANG Wing Seng, MH, Vice- Chairman of the Award Council, and Ms. Grace YU Ho Wun, MH, Member of the Award Council attended to encourage our volunteers. We sincerely thank all sectors of society for their support and donations! Every contribution will become support for local youth development and growth, encouraging them to explore their dreams, opening up a world of infinite possibilities.
