Silver Level Adventurous Journey Instructor Training Course (Chinese Only)

Award Operating Authority (AOA) and School Operating Authorities (SOA) will host the Silver Level Adventurous Journey Instructor Training Course from June to September this year. The course aims to teach instructional skills for the Adventurous Journey Section and cultivate more hiking instructors. This will support hiking training for Bronze and Silver Adventurous Journey Sections and assist the Award Scheme in developing young people. Award recipients are welcome to become instructors to continue their Award journey. We also welcome anyone interested in youth development to register. “Full-Fun National Education Pioneer Programme (2026-27)” Organized by The Hong Kong Award for Young People (HKAYP) The AYP is proud to launch the brand-new “Full-Fun National Education Pioneer Programme”, designed to extend values education beyond the classroom and into the great outdoors. Hosted at the AYP Jockey Club Duke of Edinburgh Training Camp in Tai Po, this program utilizes experiential learning to help youths build positive values and a solid foundation of identity. Program Themes Schools can choose from two core thematic camps: * Positive Values & National Education Camp: Focusing on core national education pillars and character building. * Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Experience Camp: Exploring Chinese culture through the lens of intangible heritage. AOA Coffee Brewing and Pickleball Courses 2026

The Award Operating Authority (AOA) will organise Coffee Brewing and Pickleball Courses starting in April 2026. These courses can count as Skills Section and Physical Recreation Section Activity of the Award Scheme. Participants at any award level may arrange follow-up activities after the course concludes to fulfill the section requirements. Additionally, young people aged 14–24 who are interested in coffee or pickleball are also welcome to join. Coffee Brewing Course: This course explores coffee culture and technical practice, equipping participants with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills. The content highlights include coffee bean fundamentals, cupping and flavor profiling, brewing methods and extraction techniques, as well as latte art. Upon completion, participants will be able to identify characteristics of various coffee origins and roast profiles, select appropriate brewing methods, and present refined flavor profiles with consistency and precision. Pickleball Course: This course introduces participants to the fast-growing sport of pickleball. Under the guidance of professional coaches, participants will progressively learn fundamentals including rules, court and equipment familiarity, grip and footwork, serving and returning, forehand and backhand technique, and ball control. HYAB Funding Scheme for Youth Adventure Training Activities (2025-27) Adventure Discovery Under the “HYAB Funding Scheme for Youth Adventure Training Activities (2025-27)” funded by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Youth Development Commission, the Hong Kong Award for Young People is launching the “Adventure Discovery” programme and it is now open for application. The programme includes diverse elements such as adventure training, emerging sports, environmental protection, innovative technology, volunteer service and etc. Programme objectives: In line with the “Youth Development Blueprint,” the programme targets to provide adventure training activities of quality and scale for young people in a structured manner. Supported by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau, the Youth Development Commission, and The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, The Hong Kong Award for Young People will organise the three-year HYAB JC Scheme for Youth Life Planning (2025–28) – Career Tailor from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2028. Background: At the end of 2022, the Government launched the Youth Development Blueprint, which outlined the overall vision and guiding principles for its long-term youth development efforts. The Blueprint emphasises the importance of encouraging young people to explore their potential and develop their talents to prepare for future pursuits in society. To strengthen support for youth in unlocking their potential, the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Youth Development Commission have jointly launched the enhanced HYAB JC Scheme for Youth Life Planning. This initiative aims to assist secondary school students in realising their life planning goals and seizing opportunities presented by national development.
