The Award Office organised Gold Level Cycling Adventurous Journey Training Course with “Explore Hong Kong” as the theme. Participants can explore Hong Kong by cycling, and appreciate Hong Kong with a new angle. We also invited Mr. Victor Pang Wing Seng, MH, the Vice Chairman of Award Council to be the guest of honour during the assessment journey to cheer for the participants.
Subsidised by Funding Scheme for Youth Exchange in the Mainland, which is promoted by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and Youth Development Commission, supported by Dr. Irene Tang Mo Lin, MH, and assisted by the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – China, the captioned programme was completed from 14 August 2023 to 19 August 2023. 20 participants explored the Bund and historic town in Shanghai, experienced sailing and learnt about the economic and charity development in Chinese Mainland.
The 101st Silver Award Presentation was successfully held on 3 April 2023 at Ho Fung College (Sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen). It is honoured to have the Guest of Honour, The Hon. Mr. Chan Kwok Ki, GBS, IDSM, JP, Chief Secretary for Administration, to officiate our presentation. Award Council Members and guests also came to witness the meaningful moments of our awardees. This year, there were 233 Silver Award Recipients and 19 recipients of Certificate of Appreciation (3 & 7 years of service). 3 of our Silver Award Recipients performed on the stage to share their experience and encourage other recipients to continue their journey towards the Gold Award.
The Gold Award Presentation 2022 was successfully held at Government House on 10 December 2022. We were honoured to have The Hon. John Lee Ka Chiu, GBM, SBS, PDSM, PMSM, Chief Executive of the HKSAR, to be our Guest of Honour and presented certificates to 40 Gold Award Recipients and 10 awardees of Certificate of Appreciation (10 years of service). We appreciated Mr. Andy Kwok Wing Leung, JP, Chairman of Award Council, Mr. Victor Pang Wing Seng, MH, Vice-Chairman of Award Council, Award Council Members and guests for witnessing the memorable moments of our awardees. A sharing session was also held at the ceremony as a new element. We sincerely hope all awardees would utilise their strengths to inspire more young people, promoting AYP’s spirit and belief to the next generations.
Sponsored by Tai Sang Land Development Limited, the Award Office launched the Gold Level Canoe Adventurous Journey Training Course in July 2022. Through participating in the Gold-level Adventurous Journey session, participants were able to explore the unique and beautiful natural landscape of Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark. We were honoured to have Dr. Lobo Louie Hung Tak, MH, Senior Lecturer of Department of Health and Physical Education of The Education University of Hong Kong, to support our participants in the assessment. He also set off with the participants and paddled with them for a distance.
The 100th Silver Award Presentation was successfully held on 19 September 2022 at Cotton Spinners Association Secondary School. We were honoured to have our Guest of Honour, The Hon. Mr. Chan Kwok Ki, GBS, IDSM, JP, Chief Secretary for Administration, to officiate the presentation. Mr. Andy Kwok Wing Leung, JP, Chairman of Award Council, Mr. Victor Pang Wing Seng, MH, Vice-Chairman of Award Council, and other guests attended to share the wonderful moments of our awardees. This year, there were 158 Silver awardees and 37 awardees of Certificate of Appreciation (3 & 7 years of service). To maintain social distance, a series of precautionary measures was implemented while the Award Presentation was completed in the form of groups.
Sponsored by Dr. Irene Tang International Exchange Programme Fund and InnoTier (clothing sponsor), Dr. Irene Tang AYP Residential Project Camp – Feel Your Heart was held successfully from 16 to 20 August 2022. The themes of the camp were “downshifting”, “nature” and “art”. With a series of art workshops and farming experiences, participants have learnt to slow down their pace and practise downshifting to improve their mental well-being.
Gold and Silver Level Expeditions Courses were organised for 2 User Units serving young people with special needs. A total of 23 participants completed their Expeditions Section.
Canoe training course was held between May to July 2021 for 8 participants with special educational needs to fulfil their Physical Recreation Section requirement. With the help of instructors and volunteers, all of them acquired 1, 2, and 3-star certificates from The Hong Kong Canoe Union and completed their Section successfully.
Award Operating Authority also organised Expeditions Training Courses (Hiking) of different levels in the year 2021/2022. There were a total of 103 participants joined the training courses.
