AYP Walks Along With Corps (31/3/2022)

Past Events

Since August 2021, AYP has co-organised a Bronze Level programme: AYP Walks Along with Corps with Hong Kong Adventure Corps, Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps and Hong Kong Sea Cadet Corps. This programme provided a wide range of activities, including Basic First Aid Training, Maritime Knowledge Courses, Aviation Courses, Expeditions Course and various sports activities. It was a marvelous opportunity for the participants to gain an understanding of the culture and characteristics of different organisations, as well as to complete Bronze Level in one programme.

Project ONE to Infinity 2021 – 2022 (31/3/2022)

Sponsored by 100 Women In Finance, AYP launched Project ONE to Infinity in December 2021, a project in which participants could fulfil the requirement of Skills Section. The project offered a series of workshops to let participants understand their career paths. They could learn more about the 4 industries (Finance, Marketing, Hotel and Tourism, and Social Enterprise) in Hong Kong by visiting different companies and joining Job Shadowing programme to get real working experiences.

Pilot Scheme on Youth Outdoor Adventure Training Activities (31/3/2022)

Past Events

The scheme is organised by Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and Youth Development Commission; co-organised by AYP which lasts for 20 months since July 2021. HKAYP Jockey Club Duke of Edinburgh Training Camp is selected as the training venue. This scheme provides S.3 to S.6 students free-of-charge day and overnight training camps to improve their physical and mental well-being, foster positive thinking, sense of collectivism and resilience, and emphasise the importance of cultivating positive values and mentality of young people during their growth and development. During the year 2021/22, more than 600 students have finished the training and a total of around 2,600 students will be benefited from the scheme by early 2023.

Gold Award Presentation 2021 (11/12/2021)

The Gold Award Presentation 2021 was successfully held at the Government House on 11 December 2021. We were honoured to have The Hon Mrs. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, GBM, GBS, JP, the then Chief Executive of the HKSAR, to be our Guest of Honour and presented certificates to 31 Gold Award Recipients and 9 devoted volunteers who achieved 10 years’ Long Service in volunteering.

To celebrate our 60th anniversary, the 60th Anniversary Celebration Luncheon was successfully held on 4 December 2021. We were honoured to have The Hon Mr. John Lee Ka-chiu, GBM, SBS, PDSM, PMSM, the then Chief Secretary for Administration to be our Guest of Honour of this luncheon. The Hon Mr. Kevin Yeung Yun-hung, GBS, JP, the then Secretary for Education; Mr. Caspar Tsui Ying-wai, JP, the then Secretary for Home Affairs; The Hon Mr. Tang Ping-keung, GBS, PDSM, JP, Secretary for Security; Mr. Simon Peh Yun-lu, GBS, IDSM, JP, the then Commissioner of the Independent Commission Against Corruption; Mr. Siu Chak-yee, PDSM, PMSM, Commissioner of Police; Mr. Edmond Au Ka-wang, IDSM, Director of Immigration; Ms. Louise Ho Pui-shan, CDSM, CMSM, Commissioner of Customs and Excise, and Mr. Woo Ying-ming, SBS, CSDSM, the then Commissioner of Correctional Services attended to celebrate with us. Expeditions Section Panel Annual Seminar 2021 (3/10/2021)

Expeditions Annual Seminar on Development of Expeditions Section was organised on 3 October 2021. Mr. Henry Lim, MH, CStJ, JP, the then Chairman of Operations Committee, shared his expectation of Expeditions Section in the future with participants. Mr. Joel Grant, Operations Manager of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation also revealed the transformation of the Expeditions Section. There were over 80 instructors attended the seminar.

Sponsored by Dr. Irene Tang International Exchange Programme Fund and InnoTier (sponsoring green clothing), Dr. Irene Tang AYP Residential Project Camp – Green to Goal: Create Your Eco Fashion was held successfully from 24 to 28 August 2021. The theme of the camp was sustainable fashion. With a series of training, games and group activities, participants learned the concept of upcycling and turned recycled clothes into new fabric products. Eventually, they could put the sustainable lifestyle into their daily lives.

銅章級服務科「塗ART」社區義工服務 (10/8/-23/8/2021)

Past Events

The Graffiti Workshop – AYP Bronze Level Service Section was completed in August 2021. FEVER, a local graffiti artist was invited to introduce graffiti to our participants and teach them painting and calligraphy techniques. At last, participants were gathered at the HKAYP Jockey Club Expeditions Centre in Sai Kung and completed graffiti on the walls. The programme encouraged them to engage more in community work.

AYP Flag Day Hong Kong Island was successfully held on 12 June 2021. The new set of flags was designed by local illustrator Ms. Joan Chan, who input the design idea of environmental protection and her own journey in joining AYP. The donation was raised for youth development work.

YOUTH WE 3ERVE Youth Mental Health Ambassador Training Programme (6/6/2021)

Past Events

AYP was sponsored by World Health Organization to co-organise the YOUTH WE 3ERVE Youth Mental Health Ambassador Training Programme with the Hong Kong Girl Guides Association and the Scout Association of Hong Kong, to raise the awareness of youth mental health issues. Ambassadors received training on mental health knowledge, so that they could provide services to other young people from diverse backgrounds, and raise public awareness of the importance of mental health.
