Physical Recreation Section Canoe Training Course (31/3/2022)

Past Events

Canoe training course was held between May to July 2021 for 8 participants with special educational needs to fulfil their Physical Recreation Section requirement. With the help of instructors and volunteers, all of them acquired 1, 2, and 3-star certificates from The Hong Kong Canoe Union and completed their Section successfully.

SportsZero Project (31/3/2022)

AYP has organised this project which is sponsored by the HKEX Foundation, and funded by The Community Chest of Hong Kong. By producing sports equipment with recycled materials, participants can integrate sustainability concepts into sports activities. Through collecting disposable plastic bottles during beach clean-up in Zero Hero Sports Journey, they can use upcycling plastic waste to make sports equipment in Creation Zero Workshop. After participating in environmental-friendly emerging sports games and donating products to the community, young people and the public will learn more about environmental protection and green lifestyle.

Youth Serves for Elderly (31/3/2022)

Past Events

The project is funded by Tai Sang Land Development Limited and Partnership Fund for the Disadvantaged. Young people firstly equip themselves by learning IT skills and communications skills, then they perform an online Volunteer Caring Service to residents living in elderly homes by chatting and playing games together through the AI robot Temi. Participating schools included New Asia Middle School, Good Hope School, Leung Shek Chee College, Aberdeen Technical School, Salesians of Don Bosco Ng Siu Mui Secondary School and Chan Sui Ki (La Salle) College. The project will be extended to the end of December 2022 due to the pandemic.

CLP E-Playground and Power Journey (31/3/2022)

Past Events

AYP co-organised with CLP Power Hong Kong Limited to continue promoting power conservation and launching an ambassador programme in the third year. Through organising fun activities and introducing the facilities at CLP E-Playground, young people can learn more about power conservation and experience Power Journey. During the year 2021/22, 32 young people became CLP Power Ambassadors to help in volunteer services and STEM education.

Jockey Club “Camily” Project (31/3/2022)

Past Events

Through Skills, Physical Recreation and Expeditions activities, the project aims to improve young people’s self-esteem and self-care ability. Parents can understand more about their children’s character and abilities, and enhance communication and bonding among them. Activities included newly emerged sports such as Floor Curling and Mölkky, creative Tie Dye and adventure camping tasks like building tents.

Packaging of “Anti-epidemic Service Bags” (30/3-31/3/2022)

Past Events

The epidemic created challenges for people from all walks of life. Some of them lacked anti-epidemic items to fight against the epidemic. Thus, under the lead of Mr. Andy Kwok Wing Leung, JP, our Chairman of Award Council, AYP stepped up and gathered Award Council & Committee members, colleagues, Gold Award holders, AYP participants and volunteers to pack over 10 thousand “Anti-epidemic Service Bags” for the community from 30 to 31 March 2022.

Jockey Club Diversity Mentoring Youth Project (31/3/2022)

Past Events

The project encourages marginalised youth to learn positive attitudes and values through sharing by mentors from diverse backgrounds. It is hoped that young people will develop their life and work skills, boost up self-confidence and ultimately reconnect with society. Activities include coffee workshops and kayak training.

Jockey Club Row for Future Scheme (31/3/2022)

Past Events

With the generous support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, AYP co-organised with HKALPS Limited to launch the Jockey Club Row for Future Scheme for three years. The Scheme helps young people to have capacity building from indoor VR Rowing to board rowing training and coastal rowing journeys. Our objectives are to raise the interest in water sports among young people, encourage them to embrace a healthy lifestyle and promote Olympic values to participants. During VR Rowing experience, they can enjoy rowing in a simulated environment with the help of VR headsets and rowing machines. Participants acquire board rowing techniques at HKAYP Jockey Club Expeditions Centre and paddle along the beautiful coast in Sai Kung.
