During this 8 Days 7 Nights Residential Project programme, participants visited various historical landmarks in Germany, prominent mainland enterprises, famous overseas corporations, and local cultural sites. This immersive experience allowed participants to deeply explore German culture, history, and advancements in science and technology.   CRS Hiking Instructor Recruitment Scheme The Hong Kong Award for Young People(AYP) is committed to providing diverse activities to encourage young people to challenge themselves through different opportunities. As one of the Sections of the Award Scheme, Adventurous Journey Section aims to encourage young people a spirit of adventure and discovery. Within the training, Central Registration Scheme (CRS) Instructors play an important role in it, they not only possess extensive experience, but also have the passion for nurturing young people. They are crucial to facilitate our activities to be successfully and safely conducted. With the increasing number of AYP participants, we hope to recruit more individuals with professional wilderness knowledge and the passion for youth work. With the support of China Hong Kong Mountaineering and Climbing Union, we are now sincerely recruiting individuals with Level 3 Mountain Craft Training (Leader) Certificate or above to become our CRS hiking Instructors. They will be able to share their professional knowledge and skills with young people while gaining more practical teaching experiences. “Soar Beyond Boundaries” Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Civil Remote Pilot License Course (20/6/2025)

Organised by AYP and funded by the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation, the “Soar Beyond Limits” CAAC Civil Remote Pilot License Course has been successfully held from 17 to 20 June. Over four days and three nights, 40 youths from Hong Kong explored the development potential of the low-altitude economy through a comprehensive programme combining theory and hands-on practice. The participants visited two industry-leading companies in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and also assembled medium-sized drones which gained insights into cutting-edge industrial applications. Under the guidance of the Civil Aviation Administration of China’s (CAAC) certified instructors, they systematically learned drone operation techniques and completed practical missions such as route planning, reconnaissance and delivery. The course also fostered collaboration between participants from Guangdong and Hong Kong, challenging them with the figure-8 flight operations as required by the CAAC drone exam. Through simulated rescue exercises, they practised drone applications in fire detection, firefighting, and emergency response. We look forward to seeing these young talents apply their newfound skills in Hong Kong, soaring to new heights in the low-altitude economy.

The Hong Kong Award for Young People Silver Award Presentation 2025 was successfully held at St. Catharine’s School for Girls on 21 May 2025. We were honoured to have The Hon. Mr. Chan Kwok Ki, GBS, IDSM, JP, Chief Secretary for Administration and our Guest of Honour, to officiate our presentation. Mr Joe Chow Yat Ming, PMSM, Commissioner of Police and Honorary Adviser of AYP, Mr. Andy Kwok Wing Leung, JP, Chairman of Award Council, Mr. Victor Pang Wing Seng, MH, Vice-Chairman of Award Council, Award Council Members and guests also came to witness the precious moments of our Awardees. During the ceremony, 2 Silver Award Recipients shared their Silver journey stories with the theme of “Trust the Process”. We also used a lot of photos from recipients taken during their Award Journey in our backdrop and booklet design to showcase their growth after their participation in the Award.

AYP Spring Reception 2025 was held at The Cityview on 7 February. We were glad to have Miss Alice Mak Mei Kuen, SBS, JP, Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, to attend our Spring Reception as the Guest of Honour. Mr. Andy Kwok Wing Leung, JP, Chairman of Award Council, Mr. Victor Pang Wing Seng, MH, Vice-Chairman of Award Council and Dr. Philip Ma Ching Yeung, BBS, Honorary Treasurer of Award Council, Ms. Fanny Cheung Ngan Ling, JP, District Officer (Wan Chai), Mr. Paul Wong Yan Yin, JP, District Officer (Sham Shui Po), and Mr. Johnny Kwok Chun Chai, Assistant District Officer (Tai Po), also shared the joy of Chinese New Year with around 150 guests and AYP supporters. This year, the theme of the Spring Reception was peach blossoms, representing the energy of young people, and the arrival of hope and happiness. We invited students from S.K.H. Tsang Shiu Tim Secondary School Dance Club to perform Chinese fan dance, leading guests into the Blossoms Utopia! Gold Award Presentation 2024 (9/12/2024)

The Gold Award Presentation 2024 was successfully held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 9 December. We were honoured to have The Honourable John Lee Ka Chiu, GBM, SBS, PDSM, PMSM, Chief Executive of the HKSAR, to be our Guest of Honour. The event was attended by nearly 300 guests, including Mr. Siu Chak Yee, PDSM, PMSM, Commissioner of Police and Honorary Adviser, Mr. Clarence Leung Wang Ching, BBS, JP, Under Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, Mr. Andy Kwok Wing Leung, JP, Chairman of Award Council, Mr. Victor Pang Wing Seng, MH, Vice-Chairman of Award Council, Award Council Members, and other guests for witnessing the wonderful moments of our awardees. This year, AYP has achieved a decade-high number of Gold Award recipients, with 75 young people. Two Gold Award recipients shared their stories of achieving the Gold Award during their secondary school years. They encouraged other recipients to set goals and take steps towards finding their own way of life and living the life they desire. BOC Life Wild in the City Orienteering Challenge 2024 (24/11/2024)

The first large-scale city orienteering competition, the “BOC Life Wild in the City Orienteering Challenge 2024” (Wild in the City), organised by The Hong Kong Award for Young People (AYP) and title sponsored by the BOC Group Life Assurance Company Limited, was successfully held on 24 November, 2024. The event had over 1,000 people involved, including 800 competitors, volunteers, and supporters such as family and friends. We invited Mr. Clarence Leung Wang Ching, BBS, JP, Under Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, and Mr. Eric Chan Sui Wai, JP, Commissioner for Youth to be the Guest of Honour of the Kick-off ceremony, accompanied by Mr. Andy Kwok Wing Leung, JP, Chairman of Award Council, The Hon Jimmy Ng Wing Ka, BBS, JP, Legislative Council member, Mr. Victor Pang Wing Seng, MH, Vice-Chairman of Award Council, Ms. Vivienne Chiu, Chief Brand and Communications Officer of BOC Life, members of the Awards Council and other guests. Row for Future Challenge Day (13/9/2024)

Funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and organised by AYP, Row for Future Challenge Day was held successfully on 13 September, 2024. We were delighted to invite Ms. LAM I Ching, Assistant District Officer (Sai Kung), Mr. Chan To Pui, Principal of the Hong Kong Sea School to our HKAYP Jockey Club Expeditions Centre to cheer for nearly 150 students from the Hong Kong Sea School. Challenges include kayak orienteering, SUP catapult and board rowing relay. All participants played hard, worked up a sweat and learned the importance of teamwork. They also received finish medals and gifts after the race. What a fruitful sunny day!

Dr. Irene Tang AYP Yunnan Residential Project Programme 2024 (13-18/8/2024)

Funded by the Dr. Irene Tang AYP International Exchange Fund, organised by AYP, “Dr. Irene Tang AYP Yunnan Residential Project Programme 2024” was held successfully on 17 August! Through a series of exploration and reflection, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the history and culture of Yunnan. During the 6-Day-5-Night Residential Project Programme, participants visited two Ethnic Minority living place, the Bai and the Naxi, to experience their culture; also, they visited the Eastern and Western Pagodas, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and Yunnan Baiyao Group Co., Ltd. etc., to have a deeper understanding of the local tradition and business. Multiple unforgettable experiences have allowed participants to continually improve, becoming more mature and proactive.
