A 8-day and 7-night culture exchange project to Nepal was successfully held between 1 August and 9 August 2018. 10 Hong Kong Gold Award participants traveled to different places in Nepal with 1 Nepal Gold Award holder. Participants visited Kathmandu, Namo Buddha and local schools to have different cultural exchange activities. Participants stayed in Nepali homes in Patlekhet to experience village life. SmarTone A 7-day and 6-night culture exchange project to Korea was successfully held between 15 August and 21 August 2017. 15 Hong Kong Gold Award participants traveled to different provinces in Korea with 11 Korean Gold Award participants. They visited Seoul, Cheonan and Yeongdeok to have different cultural exchange activities. During the trip, Hong Kong participants learnt more about Korean history and culture, and built up friendship with Korean participants. Activity report>>
SmarTone AYP Laos Service Project 2016 had been held on 9 August to 15 August 2016. 14 participants from different Operating Authorities, Award Council Member Mr. Whelan Leung, Award Network Core Group Member Ms. Teresa Mok and one AYP staff went to Laos together to help building a pre-school for a village near Luang Prabang. During the trip, participants could understand Laos’s local culture and they had the chance to interact with the villagers. As the environment in Laos and Hong Kong are totally different, it was a memorable and unforgettable experience for the participants. SmarTone AYP Malaysia Canoeing Expedition was held on 1-9 Aug 2015. Coached by Mr. Allen Che, Honorary Legal Advisor & Mr. Mark Lau, Expeditions Instructor, 11 participants who have been trained for over 6 months departed to Port Dickson, Malaysia for their Gold Level Expeditions Assessment. Partnered with a local young people, each team was geared with a double canoe to complete the 4 Days 3 Nights assessment trip over Strait of Malacca. Activity Report >>
The International Gold Event was an international event for Gold Award holders every three years. 75 Gold Award holders, coming from different places, gathered together in South Korea from 23 October 2014 to 2 November 2014. 9-day and 8-night exchange project had been successfully held from 22 to 30 July 2014. 12 Hong Kong delegates had explored a lot on the culture and history of Czech Republic from the journey to Holešov, countryside of Czech Republic. They had completed different types of tasks related to nature, visited the castles and museum of Štramberk, hiked and cooked outdoor. The International Gold Event (IGE) is The International Award Association’s premier global youth event. Kenya was the hosting country of the 13th IGE, which was held from 2 to 16 September 2011. Two Gold Awardees represented the Award Scheme to attend the IGE 2011. Activity Report>>
