The “BOC Life Wild in the City Orienteering Challenge 2026 | AYP 65th Anniversary Proudly Presents,” organised by The Hong Kong Award for Young People (AYP) and title sponsored by the BOC Group Life Assurance Company Limited, together with the “Nostalgic Kowloon” Carnival launched as the inaugural event for AYP’s 65th anniversary celebrations, concluded successfully on 25 January, 2026.
The event brought together over 1,500 people, including participants, volunteers, and supporting family members and friends across generations aged 6 to 75, all joining hands for a meaningful cause. We were honoured to have Ms. Alice Mak, SBS, JP, Secretary for Home Affairs and Youth Affairs; Mr. Kwok Wing Leung, BBS, JP, Chairman of the Award Council; Mr. Wilson Tang, Chief Executive of BOC Life; and Ms. Grace Yu, MH, Chairman of 65th Anniversary Celebration Organising Committee of AYP, to officiate at the lighting and starting gun ceremony, marking the exciting commencement of the AYP 65th anniversary celebrations.

The orienteering challenge guided participants through streets and alleys to seek out specially designed checkpoints. While exploring the community, they rediscovered overlooked scenery and landmarks from a fresh perspective, thereby strengthening young people’s sense of belonging and cohesion within the community.

Following the race, the “Nostalgic Kowloon” Carnival featured interactive booths and exciting performances, complemented by vintage decorations and photo spots, allowing attendees to step back in time and experience the nostalgic charm of Kowloon. Event Ambassador Teddy Fan also made a special appearance to cheer on participants and engage with the crowd through lively performances, bringing the event to a festive climax.

We extends our sincere gratitude to all partners, volunteers, and participants for their wholehearted support, which contributed to the smooth execution of the event. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with all sectors in the future, working together to create infinate possibilities for young people.
