The International Gold Event (IGE) is held by the International Award Association once every three years, and this is the first time combining IGE and the Forum together. It was held in Nigeria from 16th to 23rd November 2025. Our Gold Award Holder Ms. Shao Che Kee Koko and Ms. Yim Ka Wai Kary represented The Hong Kong Award for Young People to participate in this event, meeting other Gold Award holders from over 50 countries and regions.
In the IGE, Gold Award holders were empowered and nurtured to become future leaders of the Award through different workshops and activities. While in the Forum, then Award Council member and Operations Committee Chairman Mr. Fergus Kwok, and staff from the Award Office had joined in too. Through various discussion sessions and seminars, different operators understand more about how other global partners promote the Award and learnt from each other’s experience, setting up targets for the future development of the Award Scheme.
It was a valuable experience for all delegates, and AYP will keep on accompanying young people in their growth and development.
