HYAB Funding Scheme for Youth Adventure Training Activities (2023-25)
Adventure Discovery
Under the “HYAB Funding Scheme for Youth Adventure Training Activities (2025-27)” funded by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Youth Development Commission, the Hong Kong Award for Young People is launching the “Adventure Discovery” programme and it is now open for application.
The programme includes diverse elements such as adventure training, emerging sports, environmental protection, innovative technology, volunteer service and etc.
Programme objectives: In line with the “Youth Development Blueprint,” the programme targets to provide adventure training activities of quality and scale for young people in a structured manner. Through taking part in adventure training and a series of experiential activities under the progressive guidance and involvement of instructors, the programme aims to improve young people’s physical and mental well-being, and foster their positive thinking, resilience, sense of discipline and team spirit.
Programme contents: Team rope course, innovative challenge competition, emerging sports game, outdoor orienteering, team building challenges, night adventure, wild cooking, low event adventure activities etc.
Target:
(1) Hong Kong residents aged between 12 and 18, or
(2) Secondary 1 to 6 students in Hong Kong
Types of Camps: One-day day camp (with a briefing session prior), two-day day camp (with consecutive daily attendance), or, two-day one-night, three-day two-night, or four-day three-night overnight camps.
Programme period: From 1st September 2025 – 31st August 2027. Applications are now open for 1st September 2025- 31st August 2026.
Pre and Post Camp Training Support: In addition to the online briefing session and the post camp review, there are also “Pre Camp Worksheet”, “Job Shadowing Experience” and “Mentorship Programme” opportunities for outstanding young people.
Fees: free of charge (meals and transportation included).
Training Venue: HKAYP Jockey Club Duke of Edinburgh Training Camp

Group size: At least 40 participants (For every 40 students participating, 2 accompanying staff members will be funded. If the number of accompanying staff exceeds the funded quota, they will be charged.)
*Please note that youth participants of funded projects must download the HKYouth+ youth mobile app launched by the Youth Affairs Bureau and register as members.
