Organised by AYP and funded by the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation, the “Soar Beyond Limits” CAAC Civil Remote Pilot License Course has been successfully held from 17 to 20 June. Over four days and three nights, 40 youths from Hong Kong explored the development potential of the low-altitude economy through a comprehensive programme combining theory and hands-on practice.
The participants visited two industry-leading companies in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and also assembled medium-sized drones which gained insights into cutting-edge industrial applications. Under the guidance of the Civil Aviation Administration of China’s (CAAC) certified instructors, they systematically learned drone operation techniques and completed practical missions such as route planning, reconnaissance and delivery.
The course also fostered collaboration between participants from Guangdong and Hong Kong, challenging them with the figure-8 flight operations as required by the CAAC drone exam. Through simulated rescue exercises, they practised drone applications in fire detection, firefighting, and emergency response. We look forward to seeing these young talents apply their newfound skills in Hong Kong, soaring to new heights in the low-altitude economy.
