Supported by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau, the Youth Development Commission, and The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, The Hong Kong Award for Young People will organise the three-year HYAB JC Scheme for Youth Life Planning (2025\u201328) \u2013 Career Tailor from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2028.<\/p>\n

\n

Background:<\/p>\n

At the end of 2022, the Government launched the Youth Development Blueprint, which outlined the overall vision and guiding principles for its long-term youth development efforts. The Blueprint emphasises the importance of encouraging young people to explore their potential and develop their talents to prepare for future pursuits in society. To strengthen support for youth in unlocking their potential, the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Youth Development Commission have jointly launched the enhanced HYAB JC Scheme for Youth Life Planning. This initiative aims to assist secondary school students in realising their life planning goals and seizing opportunities presented by national development. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust will provide funding support for this round (2025\u201328) of the Scheme.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Objectives:<\/p>\n

The Scheme aims to support non-governmental organisations (NGOs), in collaboration with secondary schools, in organising various life planning activities. These activities are designed to enhance awareness of life planning and multiple pathways among students, parents, and teachers, thereby enabling students to capitalise on national development opportunities.<\/p>\n

Origin of the Activity Name:<\/p>\n

The name symbolises that every young person is like a tailor, gradually crafting their own garment (i.e., their life planning pathway) from scratch. Various “life planning activities” are akin to different types of “fabric,” from which young people can select the most suitable ones for themselves. Just as everyone has a unique body shape, each individual has their own strengths and interests. The organising bodies hope that every young person can, like a tailor, design a “tailor-made” garment for themselves. Upon completing a series of life planning activities, they will be able to find their own direction in life planning.<\/p>\n

Activity Content:<\/p>\n

The Scheme includes activities across four key areas:<\/p>\n

(a) Activities related to further studies<\/p>\n

(b) Activities related to employment<\/p>\n

(c) Awareness of multiple pathways<\/p>\n

(d) Personal development<\/p>\n

The Hong Kong Award for Young People has already outlined the direction of activities for the next three years in collaboration with partner schools (The program is not accepting new school applications at this time).
